Before

Even with an acoustic ceiling in place, sports halls offer many acoustic challenges due to high ceiling height, large volume and high demand uses.
Peter wants to give his students a good feeling about sports and also teach them how to work together as a team, both on the court and in life. But the sheer sound level and blurring of speech that comes from the largeness of the room makes it very difficult to get the message across. The students cannot hear the instructions, they mess about and find the classes very noisy and Peter often leaves work with a headache.
To get a good acoustic result in a sports hall you need to add as much absorption as possible. Even though the ceiling works as intended it is not enough and it is therefore necessary to add further absorption closer to the sound sources.
After

Now all walls are fitted with acoustic wall panels which has doubled the absorption in the room and dropped the sound levels by 3 dB. Also, by placing the wall panels as close to the sound sources as possible but out of impact reach, the speech can be heard much more clearly.
Peter feels he is now much better positioned to do his job and to coach his students. As both students and teacher can hear conversations more clearly, it is no longer necessary to shout to manage the class and because the communication between team members have improved, so have the results on the court.
